Smack dab in the middle of the holidays and some people are lucky enough to have this time off. I was able to sleep in this morning, and then take a leisurely stroll to the coffee shop. I sat down with a peanut butter cookie my mother baked, a book on probabilities in everyday life, and my coffee. It was a pleasant morning. I then let my mind ponder writing about wine. The forming of the United States of America has a very dark past. There was a whole lot of war and bloodshed. Cultures and people were decimated. It’s something that tends to not be brought up or thought about because it can be painful. I’m an eighth Creek Native American, but I was raised without ever delving into what that means. What happened to the Native Americans is a travesty. Thanksgiving to me is a hope to heal the past…
